FGIET was founded in 2006 by Lynne Honan, a highly qualified native English speaker. She is a:

·         NAATI Certified Advanced Translator:  German → English, and French → English

·       NAATI Certified Translator:  Italian → English

Lynne holds a:

·         Double Honours degree in French and German from Bradford University, UK – an internationally recognised translating and interpreting degree

·         a BA majoring in Italian and Psychology from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.

Lynne has also both lived and worked in France and Germany.

Lynne worked full time as a translator for a number of years for the Commonwealth Government of Australia, where she translated mostly medical, scientific and technical documents for all Government Departments. 

She also has wide ranging experience in administrative positions in both the government and private sectors.  As a result, she has expertise in finance and business administration, government procedures, the building industry and education, among others.  She has also worked for multinational biotechnology and software development companies.

Lynne’s main areas of specialisation are commercial, legal, scientific, technical and medical translations.  She has undertaken major translating projects for the mining and telecommunications industries.
