- NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) accreditation in the following, inter alia:
- Advanced Professional Translator level: German → English, and French → English
- Professional Translator level: Italian → English
- Double Honours in French and German from Bradford University, UK – an internationally recognised translating and interpreting degree
- BA majoring in Italian and Psychology from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra
Lynne has also both lived and worked in France and Germany.
Lynne worked full time as a translator for a number of years for the Commonwealth Government of Australia, where she translated mostly medical, scientific and technical documents for all Government Departments. In addition, she was responsible for editing translations from a variety of languages into English which had been translated by non-native English speaker colleagues and contract translators.
She has wide ranging experience in administrative positions in both the government and private sectors. As a result, she has expertise in finance and business administration, government procedures, the building industry and education, among others. She has also worked for multinational biotechnology and software development companies.
Lynne’s main areas of specialisation are commercial, legal, scientific, technical and medical translations. She has undertaken major translating projects for the mining and telecommunications industries. Lynne also has experience in localisation work for the Australian market. She is highly experienced in editing and proofreading translations and her meticulous attention to detail guarantees her clients a truly professional product of exceptional quality.
Closely associated with NAATI and the professional association since their inception, Lynne has held various professional positions including a 3 year term as NAATI director as the Commonwealth Government’s appointee, and long term membership of various language panels, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the Australian translating profession.
Lynne is a Senior Practitioner of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) and has taught translation studies at university level. As a professional translator, she is bound by the AUSIT Code of Ethics.
